Women’s World Open at PartyPoker.com

Matchroom Sport and PartyPoker have recently announced the dates of the 4th annual Women’s World Open at PartyPoker.com.

The 4th PartyPoker.com Women’s World Open will be held in London, England, on the 23rd of March and 24th of March, in this event 24 of the most brilliant female poker players of the world will take part.

Among the names who already confirmed to participate are Betfair pro Annette Obrestad, Women’s World Open III winner Aisling Collins, Team PartyPoker’s Kara Scott and runner-up Wooka Kim.

Along with them other professionals are scheduled to take part: Laurence Grondin, Stefanie Bergener, Shelley Rubenstein, Pippa Flanders, Maria Demetriou, Christine Klecz and winner of the second season Soraya Homam.

The buy-in in this event makes $3,000 which creates a prize pool of $72,000 in the tournament. According to the event’s format, the top 2 players from each of 3 deep-stacked 8- handed heats will carry their chips all way through to the 6-handed final table.

“Last year Aisling Collins really proved that Britain has got talent, but the same we can say about Japanese Wooka Kim,” said a spokesperson at PartyPoker. “Both women will be very strong rivals for the title of the winner this year. We have made the stacks deeper, so the competition will be extremely fierce.”

Eddie Hearn, the Matchroom Sport director, said he is very excited about the forthcoming action.

TV-commentary will be given by Jesse May, the presenting duties will be shared between Tatjana Pasilic and Kara Scott. Later this year coverage of this event will be broadcast first on Five in Britain and then also internationally distributed.
